Guidelines for ASP Network Meeting Presenters

  1. We would like you to talk about your personal and professional path, and how you arrived at doing the type of work you are doing.
  2. What’s the theory behind your work, and how in your opinion does it differ from the work of others in your professional area?
  3. How do you actually work with clients/patients? Very important - we’d like you to demonstrate with us some of what you do.
  4. How can we find out more about your work if we are interested?
  5. Please bring handouts or material pertaining to your topic, books, etc. if you wish.
  6. Please submit, at least one month in advance, a description of your presentation (max. 50 words) and a brief bio (max. 50 words) for posting on our website and emailing to our members.
  7. We invite you to submit an article on your topic for our twice yearly Psycho-Spiritual Dialogue Newsletter (mailed to 4500 people) – submit to Bruce Kerievsky
  8. If you wish to take out an ad for your work in our newsletter, rates are published in each issue, and information can be obtained from Bruce at the email above.
  9. As of 2007 all presenters are gifted a one year professional membership in ASP, which allows you to receive our newsletter, discounts to our events, listing in our professional directory, and a web link to your site.
  10. Plan for a presentation of about an hour, including in that hour time for Q & A with the group.
  11. Our meetings are from 7:15 to 9 pm one Friday a month at 250 W. 57th St., Suite 501, conference room A, and we serve light refreshments. Please email your list of clients, friends, and colleagues the notice that is posted on our website highlighting your engagement at ASP so they are able to enjoy it.

Thank you for your excellent work in the world and for becoming part of our ASP community.

Rationale for Requiring ASP Membership

Unlike many other organizations that are funded by 9/11 grants, government grants, wealthy benefactors, etc., this is an entirely membership run, volunteer based organization. In other words if there are no members there is no organization and if there is no participation, no contribution and no effort, then there are no events.

Those of us who have been present since the founding of ASP realize that it has been individual effort, creativity and membership building that have been the principal element in keeping ASP alive. Consequently, we are interested in people who want to help make ASP grow, and are committed to expanding their own views and connections through the programs and events we offer. We believe that those who have a genuine interest in our organization and its mission will contribute by becoming members.

Our membership offers participants various ways to involve themselves as they so choose. It is the generous contributions of that membership that allows us to flourish and continue to educate and promulgate the message of integrating spirituality in psychotheraputic healing.
